– Astigmatism
- The astigmatic cornea has an oval shape, while the normal eye has a perfectly round shape, the light rays are only partially focused on the retina. It is possible to correct astigmatism by laser, making the cornea rounder.Part of the image is projected onto the retina. Astigmatism sees distorted objects in both distant and near vision.Astigmatism can be isolated or associated with myopia or hyperopia.Astigmatism correction flattens the most arched cornea, and/or arches the flattest part, in order to obtain a perfectly round cornea
