Douala International Eye Center is an ophthalmology center specializing in the prevention, medical and surgical treatment of eye diseases including surgery for myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, presbyopia and cataract surgeries, cornea and keratoconus. Our center specializes in eye surgery, general ophthalmology. Below are some of the eye diseases:
– Corneal Erosions
These are diseases causing clouding of the cornea and significantly reducing vision. They may be accompanied by eye pain.
Surgical treatment: - Therapeutic Excimer Laser:In the event of superficial opacification of the cornea, the therapeutic Excimer Laser, identical to that of refractive surgery, is used in order to ablate the opaque surface and recover corneal transparency compatible with good vision.- Corneal transplant, in the event of total opacification of the cornea, or ineffectiveness of the therapeutic Excimer Laser treatment. An exchange of the cornea by a graft taken from a donor, is performed with a 360° circular suture, in order to recover better visual acuity.
- The complications of the Therapeutic Excimer laser are identical to those of the PRK or TRANS-PRK laser.
