– Presbyopia
Presbyopia is an accommodation disorder induced by a decrease in the elasticity of the lens and which appears physiologically after the quarantine.It results in the difficulty of focusing in near vision.Surgical treatment of presbyopia is possible in some cases, by different techniques:
Tilt technique: Thanks to the Exciter PRK or Lasik-Femtolasik laser during the treatment of myopia and hyperopia, a slight myopia can be induced on the non-directing eye, allowing close visual comfort without glasses, associated with the treatment. Of the dominant eye for distant vision. Reversible technique in case of uncomfortable visual quality.
Presby-Lasik: this is a Lasik treatment, combining the treatment of farsightedness for far vision, a treatment for nearsightedness, on a second corneal focal length. This technique makes it possible to obtain vision without correction in distant vision, from 7 to 8/10 and from 10/10 in near vision.
PresbyMAX®:This treatment module is ideal for the safe and effective treatment of patients with myopia, hyperopia, or astigmatism with presbyopia. PresbyMAX is based on a bi-aspherical and multifocal corneal ablation profile.
Corneal Inlays: Installation of an intra-corneal device for the non-dominant eye, allowing close vision without glasses by pinhole effect or focusing through a small hole (KAMRA technique) or by refractive effect. This technique is reversible by removing the device in the event of intolerance or poor visual quality.
Prelex (Presbyopic Lens exchange): this involves extraction by phacoemulsification and exchange of the opacified lens with a multifocal or accommodative implant, allowing distant and near vision without correction. The limits and complications of PRELEX are identical to those of cataract surgery, but nevertheless phenomena of nocturnal halos and dazzling by light in the evening are possible in certain cases. This technique is not reversible and in 5 to 10% of cases requires additional refractive surgery by Excimer laser to correct residual ametropia.

Corneal Inlays : Mise en place d’un dispositif intra cornéen de l’oeil non-dominant, permettant une vision rapprochée sans lunettes par effet de sténopéisation ou focalisation à travers un petit trou (technique KAMRA) ou par effet réfractif. Cette technique est réversible par le retrait du dispositif en cas d’intolérance ou de mauvaise qualité visuelle.
- Prelex (Presbyopic Lens exchange) : il s’agit de l’extraction par phacoémulsification et de l’échange du cristallin opacifié par un implant multifocal ou accommodatif, permettant la vision éloignée et rapprochée sans correction. Les limites et les complications du PRELEX sont identiques à celles de la chirurgie de la cataracte mais néanmoins des phénomènes de halos nocturnes et d’éblouissements par la lumière le soir sont possibles dans certains cas. Cette technique n’est pas réversible et nécessite dans 5 à 10% des cas une chirurgie réfractive complémentaire par laser Excimer pour la correction de l’amétropie résiduelle.
